Good reports coming in from over the weekend with some nice barra being caught.
Guide Jason Wilhelm scored his clients 7 barra on Saturday and 6 on Sunday by fishing the newly formed weed beds in the bays around C and I.
Jason said although they caught barra in these areas he was blown away by the amount of barra they picked up on his sounder in spots all over Monduran, and believes it going to be a great season.
They had most success was on Slick Rigs but if you prefer hard body lures one of the better ones lately has been the golds in the 120 Gaden range.

Fishing has still been a bit slow but some nice barra have been caught over the last couple of days .
A kayaker has picked up some good sized barra trolling the basin area in front of the wall.
Well known fishing writer Wayne Kampe also scored a nice barra on fly this morning.
Water temps are still hanging around the 22 degrees and with the full moon next Wednesday fishing
should fire up this weekend.

Good warm weather has continued with only a few cooler nights over the last fortnight. Water temps around the 21 degrees are common around the Lake with higher temps in the more protected bays.
Fishing has still been a bit slow with plenty of big barra being seen and following lures but still lacking the will to strike.
The conditions are getting better everyday and the barra could fire up anytime now.

Some good barra have been caught over the past week, with one kayak angler catching a 120 and 97cm one afternoon and then a121cm barra the next morning. all these barra were caught in front of the spillway on squidgies. This weekend is shaping up to be a great weekend to catch fish as it is more like mid spring then winter with temps reaching 33 degrees today and very humid.

Fishing reports have been a bit slow as not many anglers are venturing up this way this winter. The anglers who have fished have worked hard for their barra with a lot of big barra being spotted cruising the surface and following lures but the trick is to get them to strike.
Some encouraging news is that over the weekend I took the kids to a gymkhama, and a few of the older cattlemen from around this area are saying that we are going to have an early spring this year like we did last year.[ mid August]
The reason is that the birds are already starting to nest and some of the plants are already starting to sprout their spring shoots.
Lets hope this is the case as last years August fishing was great.
